One-On-One Coaching

Our highly popular one-on-one coaching has produced hundreds of representative cricketers and given many players an opportunity to develop their all-round skills to achieve high levels of performance.

Since Evolve started in 2012, our coaching formula has proven success across all age groups and competitions. Our one-on-one coaching is at capacity all year round, with new spots becoming available for the 2025 winter.

The format of one-on-one coaching is that players do a 60-minute coaching session, that is split into two x 30-minute one-on-one specialist sessions. Each player has a 30-minute one-on-one session with head coach Jake Floros, and a 30-minute one-on-one session with an Evolve specialist batting coach. This format has been highly successful and has fast tracked players development having two experienced coaches helping each player.

To secure a one-on-one weekly coaching time, players are to commit for 10-week blocks (school terms), and an up-front payment for five sessions is required. Players book a timeslot through our scheduling calendar that is provided upon enquiry/registration. Players are welcome to join our waiting list and book in ad hoc times when they become available.

Evolve Winter Academies 2025

Our U15’s and U19’s winter academies are an instrumental part of our players successes since it’s introduction in 2018. Our academies give players of similar skills and goals an opportunity to train together over the winter and participate in high volume hitting, match play and mental training that they won’t receive in other programs. Out of our 2024 program, we had 13 centuries by players that participated in these programs and 7 x 5 wicket hauls.

We strictly cap our numbers to 12 participants for each program, giving players an opportunity to receive technical, tactical and mental training with our coaches. Our programs are aligned with the U15’s, U17’s and U19’s outdoor requirements to thrive in National carnivals and achieve higher honours.

Our U15’s and U19’s winter academy for terms 2 and term 3 are all indoors to ensure training is on every week. There is an expectation that players that participate in our academies are prepared to work hard and compete.

Frequently Asked Questions

If I have two children. Can I book one timeslot and they can alternate?

Yes, absolutely. If you book a timeslot, families are given the option to either have 30 minutes each child or alternate each week for the allocated 60-minute timeslot.

What happens if I need to change my allocated time?

We use an online booking system that is provided upon registration to book in your time for the term. If circumstances change and you are unable to attend your timeslot, you can book in for another available time on the calendar. Please note that we reach capacity every term, and only ad hoc sessions may become available.

What is your cancellation policy?

We have a strict 24-hour cancellation policy for all one-on-one coaching sessions, and players are required to attend a minimum of 80% of scheduled coaching sessions in a term otherwise the timeslot will be offered to a player on our waiting list. A more in-depth cancellation policy is provided upon registration.

Can I watch the session?

Parents/guardians are welcome to watch the session if they’d like to, although we have a strict rule for no parents/guardians being on the court, or talking to their children at anytime during the duration of the training. Coaches also won’t come off the courts at the conclusion of the training, and parents can view the training summaries on their child’s CoachNow profile.

We do encourage that training is for the players development, and that players benefit the most when they are free to communicate and train with our coaches without pressure.

What is your training methodology?

We have coached hundreds of players from club cricketers to representative cricketers. Our methodology is about training the 4 key fundamentals of cricket “technical, tactical, mental, physical”. We ensure that we provide training that suits each players needs, including understanding how they learn best and fast-tracking development. All of our coaches have played representative cricket and understand how the pathway works to achieve high levels of performance.

What is required of my son/daughter to attend training with Evolve?

All we ask is that players are open to new ideas, prepared to have a go and enjoy training. We coach players of all different skill levels and ambitions, and we make training fun and suited to the individual's needs. Players are required to wear all protective equipment including helmets. Players are required to wear normal runners (no cricket shoes are allowed).

We also require players to complete a short 5-minute training summary on their CoachNow profile after each training session for development tracking.

All Evolve coaches have current Working with Vulnerable People cards.
